Moving farther afield we come across the Zollhaus Höllsteig a former customs post that reminds us of a time when borders between regions were more important. We can't forget the Goethehaus - a place that reminds us of the great German poet's ties to the region. Although Johann Wolfgang von Goethe spent only a short time here his presence left a lasting mark on the culture and history of the area. The house where the poet stayed is today a place of remembrance and inspiration for many visitors. Last but not least on our architectural map is the famous Cuckoo Clock (Kuckucksuhr). This giant cuckoo clock is not only a tourist attraction but above all a symbol of the Black Forest's craftsmanship tradition. We should also not miss Großer Ravennafall - the great Ravenna waterfall. This is a place where nature shows its mighty power creating a spectacular sight of falling water. The noise of the waterfall and the surrounding wildlife create a magical atmosphere that makes you feel like you are in a fairyland. Returning to the center of the region look out for the Ravennabrücke - the Ravenna Bridge which is not only a masterpiece of engineering but also a place where history meets the present. This impressive railroad viaduct rising high above a ravine is especially picturesque in winter when the area turns into a real winter wonderland. During the holiday season the bridge becomes the backdrop for the enchanting Christmas market which attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world.
