Orientarium Zoo Łódź -. An exotic adventure in the heart of the city

The first stop on our family map of Lodz is the fascinating Orientarium of the Lodz Zoo, located at 8/10 Konstantynowska St. This is a place that will take you to the magical world of exotic animals and make you feel like you are on safari in the heart of the city! Orientarium is not just an ordinary zoo, but a real educational and entertainment complex that will delight both children and adults.

How to get there? Orientarium is well connected with the city center. You can get there by streetcar lines 9, 14 or buses 80, 83, 86. Parking is available for motorists, but remember that on weekends it can be quite crowded - it's worth arriving early.

What awaits you there? First of all, meeting eye to eye with the fascinating inhabitants of Southeast Asia. Huge Indian elephants, majestic Sumatran tigers or playful orangutans - these are just some of the stars of the Orientarium. We especially recommend a visit to the huge aquarium, where you can admire the colorful world of coral reefs and sharks swimming above your heads!

For the little ones there is a special playground and a mini-zoo, where children can directly interact with gentle animals. Remember to dress appropriately - comfortable shoes are a must, as a lot of walking awaits you. On warmer days, don't forget headgear and sunscreen.

The Orientarium is open daily from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm (last entry at 6:00 pm). Tickets are best purchased online, which will allow you to avoid queues. Ticket prices range from $40 to $80, depending on age and day of the week. Children under 3 years old enter for free.

After the tour, take a break at one of the restaurants in the complex. Here you will find both dinner dishes, snacks or ice cream - there is something for everyone.

Orientarium is a place where education meets entertainment. It is not only an opportunity to see exotic animals, but also to learn about environmental protection and endangered species. Get ready for a fascinating journey through the world of animals that will stay in your memory for a long time!

Active recreation for the whole family

After an exciting visit to the Orientarium, it's time for some exercise and fun! The city of Lodz offers many places where families can spend time actively while enjoying fresh air and beautiful views.

Let's start with Park na Mlynku, located at 168 Slaska St. This is a true oasis of greenery and tranquility, perfect for a family picnic or a relaxing stroll. The park is easily accessible by public transportation - you can get there by bus lines 75, 82 or 96. Free parking is available for motorists.

What does Park na Mlynku offer? First of all, beautiful green areas, ideal for walks and outdoor games. Here you will find a playground for younger children, sports fields for older children and adults, and even an outdoor gym. In the summer, you can take advantage of the pedal boats and kayaks available for rent at the local pond. It's a great opportunity to teach your kids the basics of paddling!

Remember to bring a blanket and snacks - there are many charming spots in the park perfect for a family picnic. It's also a good idea to bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent, especially on warmer days.

For families looking for a more intense experience, we recommend a visit to SALTOS trampoline park at 2/4 Srebrzynska St. This is a place where your kids' energy will find an outlet in a safe and controlled manner. The trampoline park is open daily from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm, and ticket prices start at 25 PLN per hour of jumping.

More than 1,000 sq. m. of jumping space awaits you at SALTOS, including a sponge pool, climbing wall and obstacle courses. Before the fun begins, all participants receive a short training on safety rules, so you can enjoy the attractions without worry. Remember to wear comfortable, athletic attire and non-slip socks (they can also be purchased on site).

For cooling off on hot days, there is nothing better than a visit to the Fala Aquapark at 4 Unii Lubelskiej Avenue. This is one of the largest swimming pool complexes in Poland, offering attractions for people of all ages. You'll find both indoor and outdoor pools (open during the summer season), slides of varying levels of difficulty, jacuzzis and even an artificial river.

Aquapark Fala is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Ticket prices depend on the length of your stay and the day of the week, but on average they are about 40-60 zlotys per person for 2 hours. Children under 4 years of age enter for free. Remember to bring bathing suits, towels and flip-flops.

These active attractions will not only provide you with plenty of fun, but will also help build family bonds and create unforgettable memories together. Łódź really has a lot to offer families looking for an active vacation!

Relax in nature and a cultural feast

After a day full of excitement and activity, take a moment to relax in nature. The ideal place for a quiet stroll and tranquility is Adam Mickiewicz Park, also known as Julian Park. Located at 139A Zgierska Street, it is easily accessible by streetcar lines 11, 12 or buses 59, 60.

Adam Mickiewicz Park is a true gem among Lodz's green spaces. On an area of more than 48 hectares you will find beautiful walking paths, ponds with ducks and swans, and numerous corners ideal for relaxing on a blanket or bench. It's the perfect place for a family picnic or a lazy afternoon with a book.

There is a modern playground for children, and outdoor activity enthusiasts can use the outdoor gym. The park also often hosts cultural events and family picnics, especially during the summer season - keep an eye on the local calendar of events.

Remember to bring blankets, snacks and drinks. There aren't many food outlets in the park, but it's a great opportunity to prepare your own family picnic. And don't forget your camera - the park offers plenty of picturesque scenery, perfect for family photos.

If your kids still have energy and you fancy a bit of culture, consider a visit to one of Lodz's interactive museums. We especially recommend EC1 - the Science and Technology Center at 1/3 Targowa St. This is a modern educational center where science meets fun.

EC1 offers a multitude of interactive exhibitions and experiments that introduce children (and adults!) to the secrets of science and technology in an accessible way. From flight simulators to experiments with electricity, everyone will find something fascinating here. The center is open from Tuesday to Sunday, and tickets cost about PLN 20-25 per person.

At the end of the day, if you fancy a quiet evening filled with the magic of cinema, be sure to visit the Museum of Cinematography at 1 Zwycięstwa Square. This is the only such place in Poland where you can learn about the history of Polish cinema and see unique exhibits related to film production. The museum often organizes screenings of classic films, which can be a great introduction for children to the world of Polish cinema.

Lodz, with its rich cultural and recreational offerings, really has a lot to offer families. From active recreation to educational adventures and relaxation in parks, every day can be different and full of new experiences. Remember that the most important thing is to spend time together and enjoy your moments together, no matter which attraction you choose. Łódź is waiting for you with open arms - discover it together and create unforgettable family memories!
