Description

The Great Synagogue in Tykocin is one of the oldest and best preserved monuments of Jewish religious architecture in Poland. Built in 1642, it impresses with its Baroque style and nine-bay vaulted ceiling.

The interior hides unique artifacts, including Torah scrolls adorned with crowns and other ritual objects. Formerly an intellectual center, it is now a museum showcasing rich Jewish history and culture.

The women's gallery features temporary exhibitions, and a recreated Passover Seder in the tower. It's an extraordinary journey through time to learn about the multicultural heritage of the region.
