Heart of the city -. Market Square and surroundings

The heart of Kazimierz Dolny is the beautiful market square with its characteristic Renaissance townhouses. The market square in Kazimierz Dolny is a true architectural gem, surrounded by historic townhouses dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. It's best to start visiting early in the morning, when the city is waking up and the first vendors of the famous yeast dough roosters appear in the market. This is also the perfect time to take a quiet look at the architectural details of the townhouses before the crowds of tourists arrive. Pay special attention to the Przybyłów tenements, considered the most beautiful examples of the Polish Renaissance. From the market square we can go to the castle hill, where the Castle Complex of Kazimierz Dolny is located. Although only ruins, they offer beautiful views of the Vistula River valley and the city. An entrance ticket to the castle costs about 12 zlotys (regular) and 9 zlotys (reduced), and the price includes a tour of the tower. It is best to plan to visit the castle in the morning or afternoon, avoiding the full sun, as climbing the hill requires some effort.

Picturesque gorges and viewpoints

One of Kazimierz's biggest attractions is its loess gorges, the most famous of which is the Root Pit Gorge. This is an unusual place, where you can admire the fancifully twisted tree roots protruding from the walls of the gorge. Admission to the gorge is paid (about 4 zloty per person), but the experience is worth every zloty. The route is relatively easy and accessible to families with children, although be sure to wear appropriate footwear, especially after rain. Another must-see is the Three Crosses Mountain in Kazimierz Dolny, which offers one of the most beautiful panoramas of the city and the Vistula River valley. The climb to the top requires some effort, but the views fully compensate for it. The entrance ticket costs about 6 zlotys per person. The best time to visit is in the late afternoon, when the light is best for photography and the temperature is more bearable.

Superior relaxation and surrounding attractions

After an intensive sightseeing tour, take a rest on the Vistula River Boulevard - Kazimierz Dolny. It's the perfect place for a leisurely stroll along the river, with numerous benches and food outlets. The boulevard is especially charming at sunset, when you can admire the golden reflections on the water. During the season, boat cruises on the Vistula are organized here, which allow you to see the city from a completely different perspective. The boulevard is a great place for families with children - the wide, flat space allows for safe walking and cycling. Along the boulevard there are also cafes and restaurants where you can try local specialties. For those planning a longer stay, consider accommodation in one of the numerous guesthouses located in the city center. Accommodation prices vary depending on the season, but it is worth booking in advance, especially on weekends and during the summer months. Kazimierz Dolny is a place that is best explored slowly, savoring every nook and cranny and allowing yourself to spontaneously discover charming alleys and artistic galleries.
