Description
The Great Fountain is a historical treasure of the Saxon Garden, designed by Henryk Marconi in 1855 as part of Warsaw's first water supply system.
The impressive structure consists of a cast iron patera, decorated with sculptures of heads and supported by two stone bowls. Four bronze dolphins, the work of Herman Fritsch, gush water toward the center of the fountain.
It's the perfect place for a relaxing stroll, where you can admire the artistry of 19th-century architecture and enjoy the tranquility in the heart of the city. The fountain underwent a major renovation in 2006, regaining its former splendor.
