Description
The Wiśnicz Castle is one of the largest surviving Baroque fortified residences in Poland. The impressive building combines Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque styles, offering a fascinating journey through the history of Polish nobility.
Visitors can admire the quadrangle with an inner courtyard and four corner towers, and learn about the legend of the 'Aviators' - Turkish captives who tried to escape from captivity on self-made wings.
The castle has a historical exhibition, a collection of copperware and models of Polish castles. It is an ideal place for history and architecture lovers.
