Description
Valdštejn Castle is one of the oldest castles in the Bohemian Paradise, built on three sandstone cliffs in the 13th century by the Markvartice family.
The castle impresses with its mix of Renaissance and Baroque architecture. It has a medieval rock cellar, a cooling tower and a century-old pine tree, creating a romantic setting.
The vantage point offers a breathtaking view of Trosky Castle and the nearby rock city. Inside, there is a chapel of St. John of Nepomuk and an exhibition dedicated to local hermit and composer Václav Karel Holan Rovenské.
