Description
Prince Henry's Castle is a fascinating monument built in the form of artificial ruins in 1806 by Prince Heinrich LXII von Reuss as a hunting lodge.
This unique quadrangular building with a distinctive circular tower on the northeast side impresses with its variety of windows, including pointed arches and Tudor-style openings.
After renovation in 2016, a staircase leading to the tower was opened to the public, offering a picturesque view of the Giant Mountains. The interior conceals two rooms with vaulted ceilings and painted shutters - a real treat for history and architecture lovers!

Ann O4 months agoSmall castle, was closed (opened from May to October) but was nice nonetheless, 30 min hike (faster and more “extreme” trail is a 20 min hike); bring water and some snacks to relax after the hike, there are benches near the castle
