Description

Silver Springs State Park is one of Florida's oldest tourist destinations, famous for its crystal-clear artesian springs and legendary glass-bottom boat tours, which since 1878 have allowed visitors to admire an underwater world full of fish, turtles, alligators, and sunken props from the Tarzan movies.

The park offers extraordinary encounters with wild rhesus monkeys, descendants of animals brought in the 1930s for film purposes. Water sports enthusiasts can kayak down the crystal clear Silver River, while history buffs can explore a pioneer village and a museum with Seminole Indian exhibits.
