Description
The Herringhouses is a complex of eight historic three-story townhouses in the heart of Legnica, whose history dates back to 1574, when they were part of a medieval fish market.
These unique buildings combine Renaissance, Baroque and Classical styles, and their facades are decorated with sgraffito decorations discovered in 1934, featuring the coat of arms of the Duchy of Legnica and Brest and portraits of a man in a helmet and a woman in a shawl.
In the basement of one of the tenements there are Gothic relics, which further emphasizes the historical value of this place. For lovers of architecture and history, this is a real gem, which allows you to move back in time and admire the craftsmanship of the old builders.
