The Bishop's Palace & Gardens

The Bishop's Palace & Gardens is a unique place with over 800 years of history that was the home of the Bishops of Bath and Wells. The medieval architecture impresses with its vaulted basement and elegant Long Gallery.

Surrounding the palace, the 14 acres of RHS Partnership Gardens offer beautiful springs, an arboretum and a romantic Victorian garden. A famous tradition is the mute swans that have been ringing the bell at the gate since the 1850s, asking for food.

There are interactive attractions for families, including Dragon's Cave and themed family events such as Civil War weekends and outdoor theater performances.
