Description
The Shrine of St. John Paul II is a unique spiritual place in Krakow, Poland, which is part of the John Paul II 'Do not be afraid!' Center.
The octagonal shrine of Byzantine inspiration houses the Saint's precious relics - a bloody cassock from the day of the 1981 assassination attempt and an ampoule of blood taken during his last examinations before his death.
The interior is decorated with beautiful mosaics by Fr. Marko Ivan Rubnik SJ. The Chapel of Relics in the Lower Church and numerous side chapels, including the unique St. Kinga Chapel with salt elements donated by the Wieliczka Salt Mine, create an extraordinary atmosphere in this place.
