Description
The Roman Forum of Thessaloniki is a fascinating archaeological monument dating back to the late 2nd century AD. Discover the former administrative, social and religious center of ancient Thessaloniki!
This impressive complex includes a two-story marketplace, an underground stoa (cryptoporticus), Roman baths and a small theater called the Odeon.
The underground section houses a museum displaying artifacts from the Hellenistic to Ottoman periods. The preserved Corinthian columns attest to the architectural splendor of the site, which perfectly reflects the economic and cultural splendor of the city during the Roman period.
