Description

The Lagiewnicki Forest Nature Reserve is one of the largest urban forests in Europe, covering an area of 1,250 hectares.

It is an ideal place for outdoor enthusiasts - it offers an extensive network of trails for hiking, running and cycling.

The reserve includes Lake Arturówek, a popular place for swimming and water sports, as well as two Baroque wooden chapels - St. Roch's and St. Sebastian's - and St. Anthony's Chapel, the oldest building in Lodz.

The forest also has a rich history - it was a base for insurgents during the January Uprising in 1863.
