Description
Faro Cabezas de San Juan is a historic lighthouse dating back to 1880 and a nature reserve in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. The second oldest lighthouse on the island, it impresses with its authentic 19th-century architecture featuring marble floors and iron beams.
The reserve covers 128 hectares of diverse ecosystems: a bioluminescent lagoon, mangrove forests, coral reefs, and picturesque beaches. From the top of the lighthouse, there is a panoramic view of the ocean, the island of Culebra, and Las Yunque.
The museum presents a fascinating history, including an episode from the Spanish-American War of 1898.
