Description

The Cistercian Monastery in Lubiaz is one of the oldest and largest facilities of its kind in Poland, founded in 1163 by Prince Boleslaw the Tall.

This architectural gem impresses with its 223-meter façade, combining Romanesque and Gothic styles. The interiors hide priceless works of art, including paintings by Michael Leopold Willmann, known as the 'Silesian Rembrandt,' and sculptures by Franz Joseph Mangoldt.

The monastery even survived the Mongol invasion of 1241, making it a silent witness to the region's turbulent history. It is a place where history and art combine to tell a fascinating story about the cultural heritage of Lower Silesia.
