Description
Pilcza Castle in Smolen is the picturesque ruins of a 14th century Gothic fortress built by Otto of Pilica, a trusted advisor to Casimir the Great.
The defensive walls, preserved to a height of 16 meters, the cylindrical tower and the remains of the three parts of the castle (Upper, East and West) allow you to move back to the times of medieval splendor.
The castle is located on a hill overgrown with the dense forest of the Smolen Nature Reserve, being part of the popular Eagles' Nests Trail. You can experience concerts and historical shows here during the Juromania festival in September.
