Description
Playa Valle Gran Rey is a picturesque black beach located in the southwestern part of the island of La Gomera in the Canary Islands.
It is a place full of history and legends, named after a Hupalup chief who led a rebellion on the island in 1488. According to local stories, the La Gomera ruler used to bathe in the nearby Charco del Conde.
The beach offers excellent conditions for swimming and snorkeling. The surrounding area is stunning with contrasts between steep slopes and fertile valleys, as well as unique architecture and palm groves. Nearby is the UNESCO-listed Garajonay National Park, with its rare subtropical laurel forest.
