Description

Old Rauma is a unique medieval town that is a jewel of Finnish wooden architecture. This UNESCO-listed monument impresses with more than 600 colorful 18th and 19th century buildings that were built without the use of nails!

As you stroll through the narrow streets, you'll discover charming stores, cafes and ethnic restaurants. The place is especially bustling in summer, when numerous cultural events take place, including the famous Lace Week, which refers to the local lace-making tradition.

History buffs will be in for a treat at Holy Cross Church, with its fascinating medieval paintings, and the former Town Hall, now housing one of the oldest museums in Finland.
