Description
The Botanical Garden of the University of Warsaw is a green oasis in the heart of the capital with over 200 years of history. Founded in 1818, it offers a fascinating journey among some 5,000 plant species.
Visitors can enjoy impressive thematic collections, including ornamental plants, plant systematics and the flora of the Polish lowlands. A special attraction are the greenhouses with exotic specimens - giant cacti, palms, fig trees, vanilla or carnivorous plants.
The garden also hides historical memorabilia, including the foundations of the Church of Divine Providence, commemorating the first European constitution of 1791.
