Description

The Siberian Memorial Museum is a unique place dedicated to the history of deportations to Siberia from the 16th to mid-20th centuries.

Located in a former military warehouse next to the railroad siding from where the deportations took place, the museum combines historical research with the personal memories of witnesses.

The most moving part of the exhibition is the original Russian freight car - a symbol of the deportations - which serves as the entrance to the exhibit. The museum also features a symbolic forest of steel poles, reminiscent of the boundless, frigid Siberian taiga.
