Description

The Elblag Archaeological and Historical Museum is a treasure trove of fascinating archaeological finds from the region.

Unique exhibits include a collection of medieval musical instruments, pilgrim signs and wax tablets used as teaching aids - a rarity in Europe.

The biggest attraction are artifacts from the Viking trading settlement of Truso, founded by Danish Vikings between the 8th and 10th centuries. The settlement maintained trade contacts with many regions of ancient Europe and even Arab countries.

The excavations carried out in the Old Town of Elblag are among the largest in Europe, allowing the museum's collection to grow by thousands of new exhibits each year.
