Description

The Sandomierz Castle Museum is a fascinating journey through centuries of Polish history. It is housed in a 14th-century castle built by Casimir the Great, which later underwent Renaissance reconstruction.

Visitors can admire unique exhibits, including a 12th-century locally made chess set and a copy of the crown likely worn by King Casimir the Great.

The museum's halls also contain archaeological finds from the region, royal furniture and displays dedicated to writer Jaroslaw Iwaszkiewicz, for whom Sandomierz was a muse.
