Muzeum Ikon w Supraślu Oddział Muzeum Podlaskiego

The Icon Museum in Suprasl Branch of the Podlaskie Museum is a unique place presenting one of the richest collections of icons from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries in Poland.

The museum is located in the historic complex of a 15th century Orthodox monastery, which was one of the most important centers of Orthodoxy in the First Polish Republic.

The exhibition is multimedia, with light and sound effects that set a contemplative mood and help understand the role of icons in Orthodoxy. Particularly valuable are the 16th century frescoes rescued from the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
