Description
National Trust - Montacute House is an exceptional example of Elizabethan architecture dating back to 1598. This impressive monument impresses with its façade of local Ham Hill stone, which appears to be made entirely of glass thanks to its huge windows.
The longest gallery in England (172 feet) displays more than 50 portraits from the National Portrait Gallery, including images of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I.
The gardens surrounding the estate, with formal lawns and colorful flower beds, are the perfect place for a stroll. Montacute House was also the film set for the adaptations of 'The Wolf of Wall Street' and 'Sense and Sensibility'.
