Museum of Somerset

Museum of Somerset is a fascinating museum housed in the 12th century Great Hall of Taunton Castle, a Grade I listed building.

This place offers an extraordinary journey through the region's history with impressive exhibits such as a 200-million-year-old fossilized plesiosaur, a Roman mosaic from Low Ham and a Bronze Age gold necklace.

Interactive games, film projections and the voices of Somerset residents from the past and present make the tour an immersive experience for the whole family. Admission is free, although donations are welcome.
