Description
The Peace Bridge is a historic crossing in Breslau, connecting the northern and southern parts of the city. Originally built in 1875 as Lessingbrücke, it was destroyed during World War II and rebuilt between 1954 and 1959.
The bridge offers a picturesque view of the Cathedral Island Ostrów Tumski and Sand Island, making it an excellent point to enjoy the city skyline.
The 125.3-meter-long and 25.7-meter-wide structure is a symbol of post-war striving for peace and reconciliation, as commemorated by a plaque installed in 1966.
