Description
The mural 'Lublin, My Holy City' is a moving tribute to Lublin's Jewish community. The large-format artwork depicts a 1928 city plan with the Jewish quarter marked, and includes a poem by Jacob Glatsztejn.
The 43 yellow sidewalk tiles symbolize the 43,000 Jewish residents of pre-war Lublin. The mural is part of a larger story about history and the Holocaust in the city.
It's a unique combination of art, poetry and history that helps to better understand the tragic fate of Lublin's Jews. An excellent spot for lovers of history and street art.
