Description
The Church of Peace in Swidnica is the largest wooden Baroque church in Europe and a UNESCO-listed site. This remarkable monument was built after the end of the Thirty Years' War in 1648.
The interior of the church impresses with its rich Baroque decor, altar, pulpit and baptismal font. The wood and clay structure can accommodate as many as 7,500 people, including 3,000 seated.
It is not only a place of religious worship, but also a symbol of reconciliation and peace. For lovers of architecture, European history and religious heritage, it is a must-see on the map of Lower Silesia.
