Description
Michaelsbrunnen is a historic fountain dating back to 1606 that adorns the medieval town square in Bernkastel-Kues. Dedicated to St. Michael, it symbolizes the archangel's protection over the town.
It is surrounded by historic half-timbered houses, including the 1608 Renaissance town hall. The fountain is an excellent starting point for exploring the charms of this picturesque town in the Moselle Valley.
A walk from the fountain takes you to the famous 1416 Spitzhäuschen house and the Cusanusstift Abbey, which houses a valuable library with medieval manuscripts.
