La Rejoya is a fascinating tourist attraction in Puerto Plata, offering the unforgettable experience of trekking to a hidden waterfall.

The trek takes you through dense forest along the meandering Camu River, where numerous river crossings and walks on polished white rocks await. The hike culminates in reaching a hidden canyon with a waterfall of blue-green cascades.

This is a paradise for nature lovers, photographers and adventurers. Remember comfortable shoes, mosquito repellent and a supply of water - it's worth being prepared for this exciting expedition!

avatarEmma Givera4 months agoIt was a girls trip and wanted to hike up to this waterfall. It was about 45 minutes to an hour walk one way. You cross lots of streams but it was definitely worth it. You really need a guide to take you to the waterfall and more importantly you need a walking stick. It was a life raft, don’t kid yourself, when he gives it to you, take it. At first we were careful not to get our shoes wet but you will!!! It’s best to go when there hasn’t been a lot rain cuz the trail can be very muddy. I would recommend going on this hike. Next time though I’ll bring my bathing suit so you can swim at the bottom of the fall
avatarJohn David (davidjohns)a year agoLa Rejoya Waterfall is an absolute gem! Set in pristine natural surroundings, its cascading waters create a mesmerising sight that is both serene and exhilarating. The experience is truly immersive and allows you to connect deeply with nature. The highlight of my visit was definitely the two stunning 360 panoramic photographs I took. They beautifully captured the essence of the waterfall, showing its majestic beauty from different angles. These photos are now treasured memories that I can revisit at any time. Overall, La Rejoya Waterfall exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you're a nature lover or simply looking for a peaceful retreat, I highly recommend adding this breathtaking spot to your must-visit list.
avatarMark Mabry4 years agoA great hike. It is very easy to access the lower waterfall but a little dangerous to climb to the second one. The top pool has signs asking you not to swim in that pool because it is used by the community for drinking water. You will follow the drinking water pipe for much of the hike. If you turn off the road (the 25) and go west on the dirt road in Camu you will come to the river. Park there and follow the river southwest until you find a shallow creek that enters it from the south about 400m from where you parked. Then just follow that creek and its adjacent trail to the falls. About 35 minutes. You can see my pictures for an approximate route.
