Description
The Field Cathedral of the Polish Army is a gem of Baroque architecture with a fascinating history dating back to 1642.
The interior of the cathedral impresses with symbolic paintings depicting the most important Polish battles and uprisings. The main altar is adorned with a sculpture of Our Lady Queen of the Polish Crown, and beneath it a steel grille with hundreds of military decorations.
An unusual place is the Chapel of the Polish Soldier - a mausoleum dedicated to the defenders of the Fatherland, and the Katyn Chapel commemorating the victims of the Katyn massacre. It is a place where Polish history is intertwined with spirituality and sacred art.
