Description
The ruins of Szczytno Castle is a fascinating monument with a rich history dating back to 1350. Originally a wooden watchtower, later a stone Teutonic castle built between 1370 and 1380, today it stands as a testament to the turbulent history of the region.
The remains of the castle house a regional museum displaying the history and artifacts associated with the site. The characteristic square plan with a central well, as well as the preserved cellars and fragments of the fortress walls, allow one to imagine the former power of the fortress.
This is an ideal place for lovers of history and medieval architecture, where the past meets the present.
