Description
The Little Insurgent Monument is a touching symbol of the heroism of the youngest participants in the Warsaw Uprising.
It depicts a boy wearing an oversized helmet and boots, holding a submachine gun - commemorating the children who fought in 1944.
The monument, designed by Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz in 1946 and originally known as 'Child Hero,' is located near the defensive walls of the Old Town, the site of intense insurgent fighting.
It is not only a tourist attraction, but above all a history lesson and a symbol of the courage of the youngest Poles.
