Description
Baranów Sandomierski. The palace and park complex is a gem of Polish Mannerist architecture, known as 'Little Wawel'. Built in 1591-1606 by Italian architect Santi Gucci, it impresses with its four round towers and richly decorated interiors.
In the palace one can admire magnificent polychromes, stuccowork and the Tylman Gallery with paintings depicting panoramas of Italian cities. The first floor chapel is decorated with stained glass windows by Jozef Mehoffer and an altarpiece with a painting by Jacek Malczewski.
The gardens surrounding the palace, in English, French and Italian styles, hide trees with healing powers, including natural monuments - an American tulip tree and a fir tree.
