Description
The Monument to the Righteous Among the Nations is a unique memorial in Lodz, commemorating Poles who saved Jews during World War II.
Designed by Czesław Bielecki, the monument is in the shape of a labyrinth in the shape of a Star of David, with more than 6,500 plaques bearing the names of those honored with the title of Righteous.
The centerpiece is an obelisk with an eagle made of travertine and inscriptions in three languages, including the famous quote 'Whoever saves one life saves the whole world.
It is a place to reflect on the courage and selflessness of ordinary people in times of terror.
