Description
Baldwin's Tower is a reconstructed medieval watchtower in the Tsarevets Fortress, commemorating the dramatic story of Latin Emperor Baldwin I, who, after his defeat at the Battle of Adrianople in 1205, was imprisoned by Tsar Kaloyan and died in mysterious circumstances.
The tower offers spectacular panoramic views of the Yantra River and the surrounding cliffs. Built according to the model of the Cherven Fortress, it is a symbol of the resilience of the Second Bulgarian Empire. Legends about the emperor's death add a dark charm to this place.
