Description
Warsaw Gasworks is one of the most beautiful and best-preserved industrial architecture complexes from the turn of the 20th century.
The former engine house and compressor room has housed the Gas Museum since 1978, where visitors can admire historic coal gas production equipment, including 19th-century ammonia scrubbers and steam engines.
A unique attraction is a model of a 19th-century dwelling using gas for lighting and water heating, as well as an exhibit dedicated to Ignacy Lukasiewicz, the first person to distill oil.
