Description
Forggensee is the fifth largest lake in Bavaria and the largest artificial reservoir in Germany. Created in the 1950s, it offers an unforgettable experience for water sports enthusiasts.
From the deck of the ships MS Füssen and MS Allgäu, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of Neuschwanstein Castle and the surrounding mountains. The lake is famous for sailing, surfing, fishing and kayaking.
Around the reservoir are picturesque swimming areas with panoramic views of the Alps. In summer, the water takes on a fascinating play of colors thanks to its sandy bottom, while in winter you can explore the lake's drained pool and discover the remains of the Via Claudia Augusta Roman road.
