Building Houses are a charming row of colorful townhouses in Poznan's Old Market Square, which were originally called 'herring houses'. Dating back to the first half of the 16th century, the buildings have survived a turbulent history, and after war damage were painstakingly rebuilt with Renaissance details.

The characteristic multicolored facades with arcades are one of the most recognizable symbols of the city. Today, the arcades house stalls selling souvenirs and handicrafts, making them an ideal place to discover the local culture and history of Poznan's merchant tradition.
