Description
Chalok baan kao bay is a charming bay located on the southern coast of Koh Tao Island, Thailand. The half-kilometer long beach with a gentle descent into shallow water is an ideal spot for families with children.
At low tide, much of the bay dries out, allowing for a pleasant walk along the shore. On sunny days you can enjoy views of Koh Phangan, Koh Samui and Ang Thong National Park.
Although the bay itself doesn't offer much in the way of snorkeling, there are excellent spots nearby like Freedom Beach and Shark Bay, where you can swim with turtles and reef sharks.

Thomas VP2 weeks agoPeaceful and calm beach, not crowded. We went during low tide when the water was very shallow. On a Thursday afternoon end of July, this shallow water becomes very hot under the sun, sitting down is like taking a hot bath. This is not a snorkeling beach.and the tide has a big effect on the beach so time your visit, during high tide there's not much beach left. Several bars around the beach allow you to eat and drink. Easy access from the main road.
Nefeli Papaa year agoCute beach day with shallow waters. The beach has very easy access, clean waters and various cafes and beach bars around it. The water is quite shallow and there are not lot of fish so it is not recommended for snorkelling but it is a very cool place to relax and enjoy sunbathing

Shallow bay and have good spots for snorkeling: Freedom beach and In front of View Point Resort.
