Cabrits National Park

Cabrits National Park is a unique combination of history and nature on a volcanic peninsula off the northern coast of Dominica. Discover the 18th-century Fort Shirley, site of the famous slave rebellion of 1802, which accelerated the abolition of slavery in the British Empire.

Stroll along trails through dry tropical forests, admire colorful coral reefs while snorkeling, and observe over 150 species of birds. The park combines two extinct volcanoes, pristine beaches, the island's largest wetlands, and fascinating ruins of a garrison with cannons and barracks.
