Description
Sailor's Gate is one of eight historic entrances to Toronto's Old Town, dating back to the 14th century. This brick monument is a testament to the city's rich past and its strategic commercial importance.
Originally, it was one of the most important city gates, welcoming royal guests and dignitaries. After the capture of the city by the Swedes in 1703, it lost its defensive significance, and underwent renovation in the 19th century.
Today, it impresses with its architecture and picturesque location on Żeglarska Street, offering a beautiful view of the Vistula River.
