avatarHafizun Mushtafa3 weeks agoBeautiful beach but quite busy especially during lunch time because it is a lunch spot for those who take a phi phi island hopping. Here is the stop to eat. There are so many boats here. There are also a lot of shops available to buy foods, snacks or coffee. It's not that long but it's nice. There is also a chair service to rent here. Not sure if it is worth it or not..
avatarÉrik Gagnon2 months agoAlthough the view is very impressive and it’s a gorgeous beach, it can get quite noisy because of the many boats and restaurants that are close by. Not ideal for swimming because a lot of the space is used by boats that are docked.
avatarIngrid Kacaniova6 months agoI would rename the beach harbour. The scenery on the island is magnificent if you raise your head and look into the distance... a jungle of different shades of green. We were only in the central part, where many boats arrive and cruise ships depart. I was totally disgusted. In the sea there were separate areas with buoys and ropes, I don't know if they meant separation for boats and people. There were two people swimming... to the left and right of the boats... most of the beach is for boats. My brain doesn't get it, how can someone sunbathe on a beach full of rubbish with dozens of boats in front of them, many of them smelling of diesel fumes... There was a lot of rubbish not only on the beach but also in the sea, for example a pizza box... Right on the shore there were some holiday resorts, I said to myself how lucky we are not to live there... it's like having a house and a garden next to a 3 lane motorway, boats boats boats boats, they came in, they went out. . in front of the windows of people relaxing... Even the colour of the sea was not as beautiful azure as many beaches we have seen elsewhere... when we entered the bay the water was still beautiful. This island was badly hit by the tsunami in 2004, the remains are still visible today... Probably left like this on purpose as a reminder to mankind... Part of the waterfront with damaged lamps, destroyed stairs... Ironically, this is the part where tourists board the boats... people stand and wait e.g. on the stairs, which are partly in the air or washed away... just unsupported in a state of decay... We walked along the beach, one side of the beach is crowded with a huge number of shops... there was noise everywhere, people had to squeeze past each other, often we had to push people because resort staff were walking and had trolleys with suitcases... once a minicar, like an ambulance, drove along the pavement carrying a lying person... there were also massage providers right on this shared road. They all share the same pavement... I don't understand... it's been 20 years since the tsunami... When the area was rebuilt, people pay entrance fees to the island, why couldn't the road and walkway be done? How can you get a massage next to a Texas highway? Of all the places we visited in Thailand, this was by far the ugliest. I imagine if I looked at the island from above through the eye of a drone, the details would disappear and the island would be beautiful. Just look at the photos in the reviews, if you sort them from the lowest score you will see what it looks like in real life. I don't understand the thousands of 5* reviews at all.
