Description

The milepost of the St. James Trail 'Via Regia' is an important landmark on the historic pilgrimage route leading to Santiago de Compostela.

This stone marker is part of the Subcarpathian Way of St. James Via Regia, a 200-kilometer route from Medyka to Pilsen, which is part of the more than 5000-kilometer network of the Way of St. James in Poland.

The pillar refers to the rich history of the Via Regia (Royal Road) dating back to the 13th century, when the route was the main trade route connecting Kyiv with Santiago de Compostela. For pilgrims, it is not only a navigational pointer, but also a symbol of spiritual travel.
