Description

The ruins of the palace in Włodowice are a fascinating monument from the 17th century, built in the Polish Baroque style by Stanislaw Warszycki, castellan of Krakow.

This historic building hosted King Jan III Sobieski and Augustus III Sas, and in the 19th century became a center of education and culture thanks to Michal Poleski, who established an agricultural college and a library of more than 10,000 books here.

For this reason, Wlodowice earned the nickname 'Olkuska Athens.' Today, the ruins, surrounded by lush vegetation, are a picturesque spot on the region's map, ideal for history and architecture lovers.
