Description
The Stone of Misfortune is a mysterious monument from the 15th century that hides the dark history of Lublin. Originally used as the base of the gallows in the execution square, it is now surrounded by fascinating legends.
According to legends, the stone was cursed when an executioner beheaded an innocent person on it, leaving a deep scar with an axe. Numerous tragic events are associated with the stone, from a baker who used it in an oven and died in a fire, to a woman whose soup spilled on the stone attracted and killed nearby dogs.
It is located near the Trinity Tower in the Old City. Just remember - according to legends, it's better not to touch it!
