Description
Jan-Wellem-Reiterstandbild is one of the oldest and most important Baroque monuments in Europe, located in the heart of Düsseldorf.
This majestic bronze statue depicts Johann Wilhelm von der Pfalz (known as Jan Wellem) on horseback, wearing ornate military armor, with an electoral hat and a marshal's mace.
The monument survived World War II unharmed and was restored in 1987-88. Surrounded by charming cafes and historic buildings, it is an excellent starting point for exploring the charming Old Town (Altstadt).
