Description
Kościelec is a majestic peak in the Polish Tatra Mountains, rising to an altitude of 2155 m. Conquering this mountain is a real challenge for lovers of more difficult mountain routes.
The route to the summit leads through the picturesque Hala Gąsienicowa and requires about 2-3 hours of intense walking. Particularly demanding is the section from Karb Pass, where the steep slopes are devoid of chains and other protections.
The reward for the effort of climbing is breathtaking panoramic views of the Polish Tatra Mountains and Slovak territories. The place is also historically significant - in 1909, prominent Polish composer Mieczyslaw Karlowicz died in an avalanche descending from Kosciellec.
