Let's start our adventure with a visit to the Sącz Ethnographic Park (83B General Wieniawa Długoszowskiego Street), one of the largest open-air museums in Poland. On an area of several hectares we will see authentic rural buildings from the Sącz region. Particularly noteworthy is the witch doctor's hut, where guides vividly talk about ancient healing customs. The park is available all year round, but it is best to visit during the summer season, when all the facilities are open. It is worth spending a minimum of three hours for the tour. Right next door is the fascinating Galician Town (226 Lwowska St.), which is a reconstruction of a small Galician town from the turn of the 20th century. This is a unique opportunity to see what the life of the townspeople looked like more than a hundred years ago. Here we can take a look at a former pharmacy, post office or craftsman's workshop. There is also a restaurant serving traditional regional dishes. There are special educational programs and craft workshops for families with children.

In the center of the city rises the majestic St. Margaret's Basilica (Plac Kolegiacki 1), which is one of the oldest and most valuable monuments of Nowy Sacz. This Gothic temple from the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries impresses with its rich interior design, including 14th-century polychromy and valuable monuments of sacred art. Of particular note is the Gothic statue of the Madonna and Child and the Renaissance baptismal font from 1557. The basilica is open to the public daily, admission is free. Not far from the basilica are the ruins of the royal castle (Castle Square) - a witness to the city's splendor from the time of Casimir the Great. Although mostly fragments of the walls and the Blacksmith's Tower remain from the former fortress, the place is still impressive and makes a picturesque backdrop for family photographs. The area around the castle has been transformed into a pleasant park where you can relax after sightseeing.

After an intensive sightseeing tour, it is worth relaxing in the Shooting Park (19 Ogrodowa Street), which is a real oasis of calm in the city center. This historic park offers not only the shade of old trees and picturesque alleys, but also a modern children's playground, a fountain and an amphitheater where cultural events are regularly held. The park was recently revitalized and equipped with new landscaping, including comfortable benches and outdoor exercise equipment. It is an ideal place for a family picnic or an afternoon of relaxation. The park also features a pond with a movable bridge, which is especially appealing to the youngest children. It is worth mentioning the brine graduation tower, where you can take in the healthful microclimate. The park is open all year round, and admission is free. Nearby there are numerous cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy local specialties.
